BIOGRAPHY

DJ RAISSA – With over seven years of experience on the decks, Raissa has accomplished top marks not just as a DJ but as of this year she has earned hers Masters degree from the world renowned Norman Paterson School of International Affairs at Carleton University.
Her professional career as a DJ began playing local parties and raves. As time progressed Raissa was being booked outside of Ottawa in cities such as Santa Fe (New Mexico) Quebec City and various other parties across the country.
Her positive attitude, selection and knowledge of music, along with her great looks started to attract club promoters. Her first residencies included Ottawa’s premier female DJ night “Chicks w/ Decks”, and Joe Juarez’s legendary Velvet night at Icon. She can now be heard rockin the decks on the Surface sound system.
As a Surface resident she has not only had the opportunity to play alongside the likes of Dave Ralph, Richie Hawtin, John OO Flemming, Preach, Dimitri from Paris, Christian Smith, Hector Romero, Kenny Glasgow, and Misstress Barbara, but has also headlined the main room at Surface.

Her style is vast, from Tech-house to thumping tribal and deep progressive. She always leaves the crowd wanting more.

Raissa’s main influences are Danny Howells, Deep Dish and 16B.
